Ending of National Deaf Dog Week

As many of you know from our Facebook page, this past week was National Deaf Dog Week.

We should never overlook the idea of opening our doors to a deaf dog. Whether it is a puppy or a senior dog, both are trainable even though they are deaf. Just because they can’t hear us, there a many training aids that you can use to help train. Sign language and touch are both ways that we are able to communicate with a deaf dogs.

It is specially important to learn on training a deaf dog for those of us who have senior dogs that are beginning to loss their hearing. The sooner the various training tips for deaf dogs are taught, the easier it will be on them when they completely loss their hearing.
